I voted by mail last Wednesday.
I had my say.
After the ballot hit the box I felt proud.
I felt heard.
What a privilege it is to vote.
What a luxury to have a choice.
What an honor.
Suddenly, I was very aware of all the people throughout history who did not have a choice.
Who had the will of another thrust upon them.
Lives ended or forever changed for the worse.
Millions and millions across human history having no voice. No say.
Our recent history has created an impulse to isolate.
Safety has replaced peace as our goal.
This impulse to isolate is rooted in two beliefs that are part of our collective experience. Both are at play in our DNA, frequently causing spiritual blocks. Both have been part of this election.
1 – The belief that someone else in charge.
2 – The belief that there are active threats to your safety.
The someone else being in charge can be a god or a man. The idea that an uncaring god controls what does and doesn’t happen to you. Everything in your life is fated, and there is no free will. The other is the belief that some authority figure knows more than you, so you hand your power over to them, willingly or not. We have experience with this dynamic historically in the form of monarchs, dictators, warlords and conquerors.
The first simply isn’t true, as we are in charge of our lives and have divine help, with our goal being to align ourselves with what we want. The second doesn’t work as it is an incomplete dynamic, with the missing element being your power.
What is the value of someone else being in charge?
What is the value of a threat?
We do want there to be someone who knows, but are accustomed to that being an unkind soul rather than an wise elder. There is an allure to having no responsibility. If someone else is in charge, then nothing is your fault.
The day after I voted, I did an automatic writing with the angels. Here is what they said:
What has all this [someone else in charge] added up to, angels?
Fear of control.
Being controlled, out of control.
Loss of liberty and will and movement.
The diminishing of license to fully be yourself.
Having to measure your thoughts and actions.
Is there comfort in that for some?
Not comfort, but habit.
This is not diabolical and not so psychological.
It is ingrained in our DNA.
Not everyone is comfortable being free.
Angels, what about threats?
Threats are the way of those who seek to shepherd us into a corner.
Threats don’t exist in unconditional love.
They do exist in the space where confidence is shredded.
The goal of a threat is to shred confidence and conviction.
The recognition of a threat nulls half of its impact. The other half dissolves with seeing the wounded, damaged soul that created the threat.
Angels, what do you think about this election?
It is a blissful time for humanity.
How?
There is so much expression and so little hiding. People are owning their lives and announcing their beliefs – be that their intention or not. This must be celebrated because in this transparency, there is great hope. People feel raw, and that is good. The anger at systems can change the systems. What is missing is inclusion and cohesion. That is where we can help. In everyone feeling a sense of expansion, spirit, even for a moment.* This we can share.
[*This thought came as a feeling. The moments we have when we feel connected to the Universe and other people, be that a flash or a sustained experience.]
We are witnessing the Death of the Old Masculine. The “I know more than you, so shut up.” In this death, the parts are being played perfectly. We have the choice to play our part by letting this dinosaur die off rather than give it power. To hang on to the old is to let pain lead the way. We are all experts in experiencing the results of the Old Masculine. We have heard what the voice of pain says. Let’s listen to love.
We are witnessing the Death of Indifference. Indifference for ourselves – based on unworthiness and an idea about fate – and our indifference toward others. We are all worthy of care.
We are witnessing and participating in The Death of Punishment. Punishing others and ourselves. Blaming our problems on others like a teenager.
We are participating in The Acceptance of the Divine Feminine. Electing the first woman President is part of that, joining a wave of female world leaders.
We are participating in The Birth of The New Masculine. Steady, encouraging and inclusive.
We are participating in placing Peace in the forefront of our attention.
We have a say. Let’s be heard.
